Firefox 3.0.6 update a result of security issues

If you are a Mozilla Firefox user who has not updated your browser for some time already, this might be a good time to do so. Earlier, Mozilla released an update to Firefox that its developers said addresses several security and stability issues encountered in the Web browser.

This version 3.06 of the update fixes six bugs, the worst of which is a JavaScript issue affecting the browser's layout engine that developers labeled as critical. The vulnerability, which also affects Mozilla's Thunderbird e-mail client and SeaMonkey Internet Suite, could be exploited by an attacker to run unauthorized codes on compromised machines.

The update also improves how scripted commands, like those that came with Adblock Plus and other add-ons, work with plug-ins. Display issues previously experienced by users were also addressed in this update.

Macbook Wheel - How many of you were tricked?

When the video of the Macbook Wheel appeared, some of my peers were tricked to think that it really existed. I'd have to commend the effort put towards creating this news though. From comments seen in a couple of other sites, there were typical Apple fanboys who admitted to searching for the Wheel on Amazon before realising it is all fake.

Were you tricked as well?

Westone Announces Availability of Westone 3

Earlier last week, Westone has announced the availability of their newest universal in-ear monitor, the Westone 3. Putting their 50 years worth of experience in producing and manufacturing audio products to good use, Westone has created 'the world's first true three-way earphone specifically designed for personal use.'

The design of the Westone 3 True-Fit Earphones is rather unique. Each wire on the cable is individually coated in black rubber and then braided to form the overall cord which Westone claims contributes to the overall comfort and durability of the Y cord. Measuring 50 inches which terminates in a gold-plated L-plug with a slider at the Y section to prevent tangles, an optional inline volume control attachment that increases the overall length by 10 inches is included.

There's also a quarter-inch adapter, a cleaning tool, and a soft-sided zipper pouch, along with perhaps the largest selection of eartips of the three being compared.

Full contents of the Westone 3 package

Despite the wide array of tips, the Westone 3 earphones will provide a bit of a challenge for small-eared users. Mostly, this has to do with the large size of the earpieces as they measure more than three-quarters of an inch across.

Those issues aside, the music quality is absolutely outstanding compared to the SE530 and the UE Triple.fi 10. With three balanced armatures (low driver, mid driver and high driver) fitted into each side of the earphones, this is the first true ‘3- way driver’ system produced in an earphone. The listening experience is very personal due to the soundstaging Westone has managed to build into them, the music almost seems to be coming from within you, the listener, and you can focus on any detail at any time, or simply allow the music to flow through you.

Priced at USD399, it comes with a 2 year warranty. For more information, head on to Westone's website here.
